I build worlds inside rooms.
Fifteen years as EVP Visual Director at ABC Carpet & Home taught me that a window is not a display and a room is not a container, they are both invitations to feel something, to see differently, to stay a little longer than you planned.
I directed windows, environments & seasonal transformation of one of New York’s most storied retail destinations. Building a visual department from the ground up, I led a team of designers and makers, and produced work that was featured in Google’s global holiday campaign and referenced in design guides across the country. The work was always rooted in the same conviction: beauty is not decoration. It is the point.
Since leaving ABC I co-founded Lumo Ombro, a hospitality and design practice in New York built on the intersection of food, space, and ritual. I design immersive environments, sculptural floral installations, and site-specific painted surfaces for restaurants, events, and private clients. I also design windows, installations, and branded environments for retail and cultural institutions.
I am a Mexican American who grew up in the Middle East and England. I learned early to build worlds from materials that weren’t mine by origin, to find the universal in the specific, the timeless in the seasonal, the personal in the grand. That restlessness, that rootlessness, became my greatest creative asset.
My practice is the design of external and internal experiences, spaces that hold people, that shift something inside them, that inspire curiosity before a single word is spoken. Collaborative by nature. Precise by discipline. Driven by the belief that like in nature the details hold the same DNA as the whole.
I am available for senior creative leadership roles, consulting engagements, and project-based collaborations.
